We worked with Ritu from the day we decided that we want to purchase a new home which started back in June 2014 and ended this past June. Yes 2 years is how long it took us to find our dream home from start to finish! During this time frame we were never pressured to purchase a home by her. Also during this timeframe Ritu was always responsive to our questions and always available to show us homes for sale that we were interested in.
We even had a talk with her a year ago about how we were not sure whether we were ready to purchase in 2016. During 2018 Christmas holidays, we interviewed multiple realtors and chose Ritu Desai. She was very on-time, energetic, understood our requirements, always available (even during her international trip), knew the locality in and out, knew the school background, rezoning details, locality and people in the community details, knew which area was kid-friendly, and was extremely patient with us. We sold our townhome and purchased a Single-family Home (SFM) with the help of Ritu.
Our experience selling our townhome with Ritu - Once we agreed to work with her, she came in immediately to walk-through the townhome to tell us how we can redo a little things to stage the house. Her ideas were fantastic. She did bring in a stager to help us with ideas too but advised us on where to spend and where not to waste money. She was pretty confident from day 1 on selling our townhome pretty easily. That gave us immense confidence in her. And, to reinstate our confidence, she was able to get an offer for our townhome in one weekend. I still remember her call at around 8 PM on a Sunday saying "Congratulations, we have an offer on your townhome". We were in a scenario where we had to rent back from our townhome buyers since we didn't have a house to move to after the closing. Our experience buying a SFM with Ritu - We started looking for a SFM with our current townhome sold and the market low on SFM inventory. With the inventory that was available, we either didn't like the house, schools, or the community. We were getting a little worried but Ritu was extremely patient in showing us the houses and not hurrying us. There were scenarios where she pulled in houses that came to the market for sale last year and that was not sold and contacted the owners and requested them for us to see the house. She went above and beyond. She was extremely knowledgeable and open in telling us the positives and negatives of each house was saw. Since she has school-going kids, she was extremely knowledgeable about schools which was very important to us. She also has amazing references to handyman, roofing company, and anybody you want. Early 2020, we listed with Ritu and went under a contract in 3 days but the contract fell through once all the gloomy news started pouring out on TV. Then the market changed and it changed A LOT. She stuck with us and guided us through this unpredictable time to sell our house. We met Ritu Desai in 2007 when we were considering about selling our small town home and moving up into a larger single family home possibly in Loudoun county Ashburn, Leesburg or South Riding area. However the market was extremely slow. Homes stayed on the market for months and handful of showings over a week. We interviewed Ritu and she recommended us to list the home and see how things go. Some weeks we did not have one person thru the door however she kept us positive about the sale. Her persistence paid off for us. Right around Winter break an oversea buyer without even previewing the home bought our town home and at the same time our favorite builder Toll Brothers had spec home that me and my wife fell in love with. I would have an anxiety attack if Ritu was not along with us through the process.
Ritu not only helped us sell our home but purchase new construction. She negotiated with the builder (additional savings) and worked with us on both the side of the transaction making it seamless. I give it to her professional knowledge of the industry that helped us the ease of this nerve breaking transaction in a market that was so unpredictable.
