Happy Pride Month, everyone! This is such a monumental part of our history where we push for equal rights, which used to be a taboo topic back in the day. But how did this all start? Let's look back in time and see how the Pride Month Celebration started.

On June 28, 1969, a police raid happened at the Stonewall Inn, a bar located in Manhattan, New York. The said location was a safe place to the LGBT community we all know today. It was deemed illegal to commit homosexual acts back in the day, and establishments are being shutdown for allowing the said acts back then.

And so the raid happened - and Mark Segal was one of the LGBTQ people outside of Stonewall Inn when it was being raided, which was able to see what happened. Meanwhile, Marsha P. Johnson, a transgender woman and activist, picked up a brick and threw it in the said riot, starting off the LGBTQ movement.

Ever since then, the Pride Month was then celebrated moving forward every June, to which started a movement towards civil rights, peace, and equality among genders.
